Virginia LaBoube, 87, of Lee's Summit, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, January 6, 2012, at the St. Luke's Hospital in Lee's Summit. She was born August 3, 1924, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Harry W. K and Viola (Locke) Bagby. On June 17, 1949, she was united in marriage in St. Louis, to Roy Wayne LaBoube, who preceded her in death on October 23, 1995. Virginia attended Jefferson City Public Schools. She was employed with Union Pacific Railroad as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lee's Summit and a former member of Memorial Baptist Church in Jefferson City. Virginia enjoyed Bible studies and card games. She is survived by one sister: Betty R. Kellar, husband Ken, of Lee's Summit; one brother-in-law: Gene Stratmann of St. Louis; four grandchildren: Cindy Ellis of St. Charles, Mindy Tornatore of Ballwin, Steve Burton, wife Kathleen, of Troy, Susan Snyder of St. Charles; five great-grandchildren: Brittany Ellis, Dominic Tornatore, Tim Burton, Christina Burton, and Tommy Norman, wife Darshell, of the state of California. She will be greatly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was also preceded in death by one daughter: Mildred L. Burton; and one sister: Gertrude V. Stratmann. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2012, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
