Shannon Lee Veltrop

Shannon Lee Veltrop, 37, of Jefferson City, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at her residence. She was born on August 14, 1974, in Tipton, Mo., a daughter of Carl and Debra Pryor. On June 7, 2003 she was united in marriage to Richard Lee Veltrop Jr., who preceded her in death on March 6, 2010. Shannon was a 1992 graduate of Tipton High School in Tipton, Missouri. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed walks in the park and making friends and family happy. Most of all, she loved spending time with her seven year old son, Coty. Shannon is survived by one son: Coty Veltrop of the home; three step-children: Rachael Veltrop, Madison Veltrop, and Nicole Veltrop, all from Ashland, Mo.; and one granddaughter: Sophia. Friends will be received from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2012, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m., with Chaplain Bruce Gardner officiating. Private burial will be held on the Bischoff family farm near St. Thomas, Mo.
