Juanita Ruth Corum, age 81, of Lohman, formerly of Centertown, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. She was born March 27, 1930, in Louisiana, Mo., a daughter of John and Pauline Smith Springer, both deceased. On April 18, 1950, in Louisiana, she was united in marriage to Thomas Austin Corum, who preceded her in death January 24, 1981. She was a homemaker, who took pride in sewing for her grandchildren, quilting, crossword puzzles, reading and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Juanita was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include two sons, Darrell Corum of Russellville and David Corum (Ginger) of Jefferson City; two daughters, Debbie Meller (Galen) of Lohman and Pam Hamblin (Joe) of Olathe, Kan.; two brothers, Marion ìTunneyî Smith and Kenneth Smith, both of Pittsfield, Ill.; two sisters, Betty Joan Sevier and Sharon Penrose ( Rollie), all of Quincy, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren (with four more due later this year), along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Burdette Smith and Merle Springer. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville, with the family receiving friends from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home on Friday. Interment will be in the Centertown Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Centertown Cemetery or the charity of the donors choice.
