Charles Randolph Haviland, 62, of Westphalia, died Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born on September 25, 1949, in St. Louis, the son of Warren Erwin Robert Haviland and Van Buschart Haviland. His mother survives in Jefferson City. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. He was united in marriage on July 10, 1971, in St. Louis, to Jan Frances Myers who resides at the home. Charles was the CEO of Haviland Corporation, a manufacturing company producing squeegees. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson City. He served as President of the International Sanitary Supply Association, Treasurer for the Manufacturing Association of Sanitary Supplies, and treasurer for the National Bottle Association. Charles was an Eagle Scout and served as a Scout Master for Troop 17 in Linn, Mo. Other survivors include: one daughter, Alice (Marcus) Andrews, Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Mya Andrews and Xavier Andrews; two brothers, Warren (Karen) Haviland, La Jolla, Calif.; Mark (Sheryl) Haviland, Loose Creek; two nephews, Matt Roth and Evan Haviland; and three nieces, Joy Haviland, Becca Cruz, and Kate Haviland. He was preceded in death by his father; a nephew, Donald Reed; and a sister, Vanette "Pixie" Reed. A memorial service with military honors will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church with the Dr. Rob Erickson and Dr. David Henry, officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held following the service. Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church Mission Fund, Boy Scouts, Samaritan Center, or Good Shepherd Center.
