Carolyn Mae Wilbers

Carolyn Mae Wilbers, 70, of Osage Bend, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born October 27, 1941, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Lorenzo and Dolly (Cremens) Barbee. She was a 1960 graduate of Jefferson City High School. In September 1976, Carolyn was united in marriage to Donald Richard "Dick" Wilbers, who preceded her in death on January 4, 2011. Carolyn worked for the Missouri Highway Patrol and retired in 1996, from the Cole County Clerk's Office. She also was co-owner and worked with her husband Dick at Johnny's Butcher Shop for many years. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Carolyn enjoyed watching TV, the comfort of her dogs and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include two children: Jimmy Wilbers and wife Christy of Jefferson City, Jennifer Wilbers of Osage Bend; and three grandchildren: Logan Wilbers, Dylan Wilbers and Landon Wilbers. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Barbe. Friends will be received from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2012, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Fr. Gregory Meystrik officiating. Private family interment will be held in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Wardsville. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, the Humane Society or American Lung Association.
