Levi Mathews

Mr. Levi John Mathews, age 30 years, of Holts Summit, Mo., died Monday, February 6, 2012, at his home. Levi was born July 22, 1981, in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of John David and Tammy Lynn Albertson Mathews. He was married on October 18, 2007, in Mexico, Mo., to Shona Elizabeth Hoffmann. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Levi was employed with Unilever, Inc. since March, 2010. Previously, he had been employed at the Dollar General Distribution Center in Fulton as a second shift supervisor. Levi enjoyed fishing, playing and writing music, but most importantly enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include: his wife, Shona Elizabeth Mathews; two sons, Gavin John Mathews and Gage Thomas Moore of the home; his parents, John and Tammy Mathews of Holts Summit, Mo.; one brother, Joshua Daniel Mathews of Holts Summit, Mo.; one sister, Laci Elizabeth Blanton and her husband Tim of Holts Summit, Mo. one grandmother, Helen Mathews of Eldon, Mo.; and many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Edith Albertson and his paternal grandfather, R.I. Mathews. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:30 until 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2012, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Roy Bennett officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Eldon City Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Mathews children's educational fund.
