Ruth Delahay

Ruth Meloy Delahay, age 84, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She was born to Albert Everett and Veneti Thornton Meloy on November 12, 1927, in Fulton, Missouri. Ruth graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1945. She married Leslie E. (Ed) Delahay Jr. on April 5, 1946. Ruth has been a resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma since 1958, and attended Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She had been a volunteer at Mercy Hospital for over 30 years. Ruth is survived by her husband of 65+ years; a daughter, Linda Delahay Pisenti and her husband David of Fredericksburg, Virginia; a son, David Meloy Delahay and wife Charlotte, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; a daughter Leslie Delahay McKinzie of Clermont Florida; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, a brother, Thomas Thornton Meloy, and a sister, Jesse Lucille Cheshire. She is sorely missed. A graveside service will be held at Riverview Cemetery on Thursday, February 9, at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Daniel Hilty officiating.
