Charles "Chuck" Redel, 81, of Jefferson City, died suddenly Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born on October 23, 1930, in Freeburg, the son of the late George Mike and Antonia Marie Eisterhold Redel. He was married on September 8, 1956, in Vienna, to Lillian Frances Renkemeyer, who survives at the home. They celebrated 55 wonderful years of marriage together. A 1948 graduate of Freeburg High School, Mr. Redel was employed for many years as Assistant Street Commissioner with the Jefferson City Street Department. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a long-time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he served for more than 25 years on their "Dream Team", Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. Chuck enjoyed being outdoors and was generous with his time to charitable works, especially Immaculate Conception Church and School. He loved his trips to Boonville with Lill. Spending time with his daughters and precious granddaughter, Paden, was a priority in his life. Other survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Pamela Kathryn and Denny Osburn, Kansas City, and Peggy Ann Redel and her friend, John Michael Martinez, both of Kansas City; one granddaughter, Paden Kathryn Osburn, Kansas City; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Sylvester "Bud" Redel, Jefferson City, Jim and Carol Redel, Avon, Ind., and Rosalyn Redel, Broken Arrow, Okla.; and one sister and brother-in-law, Terry and Martin Schwartze, Holts Summit. He was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Redel; and one sister-in-law, Marcie Redel. Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, February 6, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Gregory L. Higley, the Rev. Msgr. David D. Cox, and the Rev. Patrick G. Dolan concelebrating. Burial with military honors was in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E.
