Lucille Elizabeth Koerber

Lucille Elizabeth Koerber, 85, of Argyle, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012, in the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. She was born in Osage County, at Folk, a daughter of Joseph H. and Regina Cecelia (Feltrop) VanLoo. She had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 85 years, 9 months, and 29 days. Mrs. Koerber was united in marriage on April 12, 1944, at Folk, to Vincent George Koerber, and to this union, four children were born. Mrs. Koerber was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, and was active in the church choir as long as her health permitted. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Quilting Circle, had donated many quilts to various fund raising events, was a professional, all by hand, quilter and a talented seamstress. Mrs. Koerber enjoyed gardening, playing cards, outside activities, checking the cattle, fishing, and baking especially cinnamon rolls. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker for the majority of her working life and was always diligent in providing for the needs of her family. Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Koerber include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Lynn Koerber, Westphalia; and Marvin and Sandra Koerber, Argyle; two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Gerald Rehagen, Meta; and Mary Jane and Jim Steinman, Argyle; one brother, LeRoy VanLoo, Jefferson City; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose and Clem Distler, and JoAnn and Jim Winkleman, all of Jefferson City; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband on August 12, 1979; by her father on January 11, 1981; and by her mother on July 12, 1992. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2012, with a Prayer Service and Rosary at 7 p.m., and 9-10 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2012, all in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Koerber at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 29, 2012, in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, with the Rev. Msgr. Marion J. Makarewicz officiating. Interment will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Argyle, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Masses are preferred by the family with envelopes available at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church or the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
