Darrell L. Rollins

Mr. Darrell L. Rollins, age 70 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012, surrounded by family at his home. Darrell was born on September 9, 1942, in Gasconade County, Mo., the son of Ralph and Irene Collins Rollins. He was married in Bland, Mo., on April 8, 1973, to Kay June Farris, who survives at the home. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Darrell graduated from Bland High School. He was employed for over 20 years with the Algoa Correctional Center working his way from a prison guard to activities coordinator. He later worked with Clear Point Treatment Center and retired in 2006 as the director of marketing for Royal Oaks Hospital in Windsor, Mo. Darrell was an active member of First Assembly of God and was a strong man of faith. He loved spending time and taking care of his family, especially with his grandchildren. Darrell was an avid reader, who also enjoyed his weekly lunches with Reverend Bob Nilges, his training as a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University Advisor and watching Fox News to keep up on Politics. He was always willing to debate current affairs with friends and family. Survivors include: his wife of almost 40 years, Kay Rollins; one daughter, Shelly Kaplan and her husband Mike of Jefferson City, Mo.; two sons, Mike Bock and his wife Tina of Linn, Mo. and John Rollins and his wife Julie of Jefferson City, Mo.; two sisters, Carolyn Ray of Lee's Summit, Mo. and Donna Gelven and her husband G.W. of Independence, Mo.; four grandchildren, Brandon Bock and his wife Ashley, Heidi Krieg and her husband Clayton, Kale Rollins, and Cooper Rollins; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Bock and Hudson Krieg; and several nieces, nephews, and other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held at First Assembly of God from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2012. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at First Assembly of God with the Reverend Lowell Perkins officiating.
