Michael H. Knoll, 56, of Westphalia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at his home, after a three year battle with cancer. Mike was born on December 22, 1955, a son of Harold H. and Marguerite (Stuecken) Knoll. He was a 1974 graduate of Missouri Military Academy and attended the University of Missouri. On April 8, 1978, he was united in marriage at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia, to Pamela S. Grafe, who survives at their home. At the time of his death, he was co-owner of Quaker Window Products in Freeburg, Mo. Mike took great pride in acquiring the newest technology to compete in the window industry. During his leadership, many major improvements took place including the addition of the glass facility which includes a tempering oven, an enhanced receiving facility and the new state-of-the-art paint facility a.k.a Mike's Monster. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, hanging out on his farm and going to the casinos. He loved spending time with family and friends. Most of all, Mike will be remembered for his generosity whenever a friend or employee had difficult personal issues. He was also responsible, through Quaker, for sponsoring many charities which include the Special Learning Center through Buck-A-Bone and Henke Golf Tournament, the Helias Golf Tournament, Wounded Warrior Projects, Habitat for Humanity and the Linville Golf Tournament. Survivors include: his wife of 34 years, Pamela Knoll; one son: Alex Knoll of the home; his mother: Marguerite Knoll of Freeburg; two brothers: Ron Knoll of Freeburg and Ken Knoll (wife Mary) of Koeltztown; three sisters: Mary Brondell (husband Jim) of Jefferson City, Judi Stone (husband Ron) of Avon, Conn., and Lottie Kaesik of Lake of the Ozarks; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: Harold H. Knoll; one sister: Maurita Hartenberger; two brothers: Thomas Knoll and Harold F. Knoll; and a brother-in-law: John Kaesik. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia, where a prayer service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Additional Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia, with Fr. Mark Smith as the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Home and School Association, or to Hospice Compassus, 600 Monroe Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
