Gail Ann Lineback, 53, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center surrounded by her family after a courageous nine year battle with breast cancer. She was born on January 19, 1959, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Leonard William and Sarah Ann (Veltrop) Heckman. Gail was a 1977 graduate of Helias High School and attended Central Missouri State University. She was united in marriage on March 22, 1996, in Jefferson City, to Sheldon Lee Lineback, who resides at the home. Gail was a deputy sheriff with the Cole County Sheriff's office in Jefferson City working in civil process, jail and juvenile investigator reaching the rank of corporal. She also had worked for Davey Jones Locker, Department of Health and Senior Services, and Midwest Travel. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and past member of the Deputy Sheriff's Association. She also received the Buckle Bear Award from the Missouri Division of Highway Safety. Gail's greatest love was being a mother. She loved watching her daughter play softball and watch her son play football. She also enjoyed caring for her dog, Zeus. Other survivors include: two children, Jessica Lineback and Lucas Lineback, of the home; three sisters, Mary Kay Tambke, Jefferson City; Karen (Bill) Dent, Holts Summit; Gina (Bob) Stuenkel, Mary's Home; her father and mother-in-law, Robert and Ahna Lineback, Swan, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Kara Logan, Indianola, Iowa. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lewayne Heckman; and a brother-in-law, Jim Tambke. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Monday, December 17, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. David D. Cox officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 1:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Lineback Children's Education Fund.
