Linda L. Turnbull, 69 of Peoria, Illinois, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012, at the OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois. She was born on December 27, 1942, in Superior, Nebraska, a daughter of Pearl Chaney and Eva Edith (McArthur) Shively. She was raised and previously resided in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was united in marriage on January 27, 1973, to John H. Turnbull, who preceded her in death on April 27, 2000. Linda moved to Germantown Hills, Illinois in 2002, to be a "Nanny-Granny" to her grandchildren, Lindsey and Jadin Dyer. She and her husband were long time active members of the First Christian Church in Jefferson City. Linda loved cooking and sewing for her family. She is survived by two daughters: Beth Turnbull-Dyer and her husband Rex of Germantown Hills, Illinois and Midge Glavin and her husband Michael of Holts Summit, Missouri; two sons: Reg Turnbull and his wife Anita of Jefferson City, Missouri and Jan Turnbull of Burbank, California; two sisters: Ruby Shively of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Alma Nelson of Pinckney, Michigan; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Party and Luncheon will be held at the First Christian Church, 327 E. Capitol Avenue, Jefferson City, Missouri on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service and balloon release at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the First Christian Church, Jefferson City, Missouri.
