Pearl Margaret (Hertzing) Mengwasser

Pearl Margaret (Hertzing) Mengwasser, 84, died Thursday, November 29, 2012, at the Westphalia Hills Retirement Center. She was born October 9, 1928, at Rich Fountain, Missouri, a daughter of the late Gertrude (Dill) Hertzing and step-father John Hertzing. She attended Sacred Heart School in Rich Fountain. On February 18, 1947, Pearl was united in marriage at Rich Fountain to Vincent Mengwasser, who preceded her in death on October 27, 2006. Pearl was a homemaker and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Ann's Sodality and the Western Catholic Union. She enjoyed cooking, baking and bird watching. She is survived by three sons: Kenneth J. Mengwasser (wife June) of Jefferson City, Donald L. Mengwasser (wife Darlene) of New Bloomfield, David L. Mengwasser (wife Mary) of Saucier, Mississippi; three daughters: Shirley F. Fox (husband Robert) of San Antonio, Texas, Patricia M. Eggleston (husband Gary) of Millersburg, Sandra M. Toebben (husband Doug) of Bonnots Mill; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Mengwasser; one grandson, John Paul Mengwasser; and one great-granddaughter, Paige Mengwasser. Friends will be received from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at the Taos Knights of Columbus Hall. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Fr. Wayne Boyer officiating. Private family entombment will be held in the Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church for Mass intention.
