Jessie Bradford, 96, of Fulton, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at her daughter's home in Kansas City. She was born February 21, 1916, to the union of Fred and Florence Pemberton, in Fulton, Missouri. She attended Sumner High School in St. Louis, Missouri. She was married to Harry Prince and to that union four daughters were born. She then was married to Udell Bradford, who preceded her in death. Jessie worked many years as a homemaker. She was then employed at the Missouri School for the Deaf, as a seamstress for 12 years. After retirement she volunteered for the Callaway Hospital Auxiliary. She was an active member of St. James United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Jessie sang in the Women's Choir, was a Communion Steward and was Treasurer for the United Methodist Women for 40 years. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and could just about make anything. She had a green thumb and had beautiful plants and flowers. When her health began to fail her, she was cared for by her daughters and a loving caregiver: Lenora Gibson. She is survived by four daughters: Frances Ward, Myra Coulter, Karen Galbreath and Deborah Prince; a step-son: Sullivan T. Bradford; seven grandsons: Reginald (Carmen) Johnson, Renard Johnson, Frank Sims, Stanley (Cheryl) Hawkins, Brian (Amy) Hawkins, Kevin Sims, Howard Bradford; two granddaughters: Marshall (Tyrone) Gathers, Resean (Kevin) Bowman; one nephew: Michael (Peggy) Pemberton; one niece: Rosalind (Mark) Ford; 20 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, one sister, and a son-in-law. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the St. James United Methodist Church in Fulton. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the St. James United Methodist Church, with Rev. David A. Gilmore officiating. Interment will follow in Southside Cemetery in Fulton.
