Peter J. DeLong Jr.

Mr. Peter J. DeLong Jr., age 85 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Friday, August 24, 2012, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center. He was born on January 22, 1927, in Cole County, Mo., a son of Peter and Mathilda Propst DeLong. Peter graduated from Jefferson City High School and from the Chicago Art Institute in Chicago, Ill. He served in the United States Army Air Corps. Peter was an artist with a passion for photography. He was also employed as a sheet metal worker. Survivors include: one son, George DeLong; one brother, George F. DeLong; one sister, Mary Diefenbach; six nephews, Gary Cady, Leon DeLong, Daniel DeLong, Mark Sapp, Larry Sapp and James Delong; and two nieces, Jean Moffat and Linda Sapp. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joseph DeLong; his sister, Margaret Cady; and his nephew, Thomas DeLong.
