Nadine Garber

Nadine Garber, age 84, of California, formerly of Tipton, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012, at the Moniteau Care Center in California. She was born January 22, 1928, in Fortuna, Missouri, a daughter of the late Rufus and Mona Knife Hofstetter. On September 6, 1947, in Fortuna, she was united in marriage to Ed Garber, who preceded her in death on January 28, 2012. Nadine was a member of the Tipton Christian Church. She enjoyed playing golf and attending functions at the Tipton Country Club and was active in the Red Hat Society. Her favorite hobbies were crocheting and tending to her flowers. She is survived by her daughter, Pam Hoskins and husband David of Jefferson City; her brothers, Don Hofstetter of California, Dale Hofstetter of Jefferson City, Ross Hofstetter of Boonville and Kay Hofstetter of Tipton; her sisters, Wilma Lee Thompson, Dolores Bestgen, Gene Coala, and Darlene Matthews, all of California, and Ramona Lubbert of Jefferson City; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gilbert and Vernon Hofstetter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 22, at the Bethel Mennonite Church. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery with Clark Hofstetter, Scott Hofstetter, Bernie Bestgen, Chuck Fulks, Jerry Garber and Ronnie Garber serving as casketbearers and Jack Vuelemans, Don Hofstetter, Dale Hofstetter, Ross Hofstetter and Kay Hofstetter serving as honorary casketbearers. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, Hospice Compassus or to the charity of the donor's choice. Expressions of sympathy may be left online at www.kidwellgarber.com.
