Arthur Fredrick "Art" Rackers, 85, of Bonnots Mill, Mo., died Sunday, August 12, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born on October 30, 1926, in Taos, Mo., the son of the late Ilde Henry and Christina Wimmer Rackers. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Rackers was employed with the former International Shoe Company for several years, and retired in 1990 as a Line Supplier with Chesebrough-Ponds where he was employed for many years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Loose Creek. Survivors include: four siblings, Donald (Grace) Rackers, Bonnots Mill, Mo.; Rosella Rackers, Linn, Mo.; Mary Bell, Jefferson City; and Patricia Bracher, Tebbetts, Mo.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, LeRoy Rackers; and two brothers-in-law, John Bell and Darrell Bracher. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Loose Creek, with the Rev. Donald J. Antweiler, officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Loose Creek. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
