Dennis Helton, age 54, of Jefferson City, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2012, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan on July 15, 1958, son of Carl and Wilma Dean (Bailey) Helton. Dennis was previously employed at American Airlines, Chrysler, and Burtek. He recently worked with SEMA as a Logistic Section Chief. Dennis was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by one daughter, Lauren Helton Inman and husband Justin of Rogersville; his companion, Christi Knipp of Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Adalynn Inman and Brady Inman, both of Rogersville; his parents, Carl and Wilma Helton of Crocker; one sister, Carla Davidson and husband Wes of Seymour; two nephews, Brandon Davidson and wife Lisa and Adam Davidson, both of Marshfield; one great-nephew, Matt Davidson of San Diego, California; one great-niece, Hunter Davidson of Marshfield; and a host of friends and family. Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Interment will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
