Cleveland Playvous Rush, 44, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, Missouri. He was born December 16, 1967, in East St. Louis, Illinois, a son of the late Leveland Playvous Rush and Raydine (Cole) Rush. He was a proud graduate of the "Home of the Flyers" East St. Louis Senior High. Cleveland was a volunteer at Central Missouri Community Action (CMCA), and also worked at numerous restaurants in the Jefferson City area. He attended Solid Rock Family Church. Cleveland enjoyed sports, especially football and basketball. He was a devoted father and always loved spending time with his children. Cleveland is survived by his fiance: Sheree Rochelle Pigford of the home; six children: Anthony Smith and Janeen Smith of East St. Louis, Ill., Shamika Smith Ebony Smith and Cleveland Rush, Jr. of Springfield, Ill., Cleveland Rush III of Jefferson City, Mo.; his ex-wife: Annette Cunningham (mother of Cleveland, Ill.); four grandchildren and 31 brothers and sisters. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2012, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2012, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Rev. John Skiles and Rev. Earnette Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery in New Bloomfield. In Lieu of Flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Family of Cleveland Rush.
