Jeanne McDonald

Jeanne McDonald, 80, of Ashland, died Thursday, April 19, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. She was the only child of B.W. and Mary Irvine Shepard, born March 22, 1932 in Amoret. She graduated from Maysville High School in 1949, attended UCM at Warrensburg, and graduated with a degree in Nursing from Washington University in 1954. During her career as a nurse, she worked for Boone Hospital Center, University Hospital and the Department of Health. She was a member of The Ashland Garden Club since 1978 and a member of the PEO Chapter JB in Jefferson City. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Hartsburg and loved singing in the choir. She was loved by all that knew her and will be greatly missed. Survivors include four children: David McDonald and his wife Katie of Sarasota, Fla., Steven McDonald and his wife Debbie of Jefferson City, Michael McDonald and his wife Sandy of Jefferson City, and Shari Bullard and her husband Jim of Hartsburg; 10 grandchildren: Stephen, Jason, Lauren, Brice, Scott, Logan, Libby, Ross, Lezlie, and Jacob; and three great-grandchildren: Gage, Joseph and Maxwell. Visitation will take place Monday, April 23, at 10 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., at Peace United Church of Christ in Hartsburg. If desired, memorials may be made to Peace United Church of Christ.
