William Frederick "Bill" Stiesmeyer, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at his residence. He was born on August 20, 1929, in Osage County, the son of the late Bruce Anthony and Emilie Mertens Stiesmeyer. He was united in marriage on July 26, 1956, in Hernando, Miss., to Bonnie Jean Herndon who resides at the home. A United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Stiesmeyer operated the Clark Service Station on Missouri Boulevard for several years. He later served as a corrections officer with the Missouri Department of Corrections until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of Fairgrounds Road Church of Christ. Other survivors include: two daughters, Sara (Donald) Boes, Jefferson City, and Rachel (Bruce) Duncan, Defiance, Mo.; three grandchildren, Daniel Boes, James Duncan, and Emily Duncan; and one brother, Edward Stiesmeyer, Placitas, N.M. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Geneva Chipps and Mary Belle Koenigsfeld; and two brothers, Irvin Stiesmeyer and Walter Stiesmeyer. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Fairgrounds Road Church of Christ with Brent Newton officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Linn Memorial Cemetery in Linn, Mo. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
