Agnes Irene (McKee) Pendleton, age 88, of Iberia, departed this life on April 14, 2012, at her home. She was born in Van Cleve, on March 9, 1924, daughter of the late Granville and Laura (Barnhart) McKee. On November 24, 1942, she was united in marriage to Orville Euel Pendleton, who preceded her in death on October 20, 1993. To this union, one son and four daughters were born. Together they shared 50 years of marriage. Agnes was raised in Meta and was a 1942 graduate of Meta High School. She took summer school at the Iberia Academy and also taught at a one room school house that fall. After she married and had her children, her life centered around her family and church. She was a long time member of the Iberia Church of the Nazarene. Agnes was a woman of many talents; she sold Avon, Stanley, and Tupperware products, she canned, cooked, farmed, and managed Pendleton's AKC Puppy Kennel. In her spare time she loved to make crafts, knit, crochet, and quilt. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She fought the good fight and lived a long and active life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, a caring neighbor and friend. The family celebrates her life and all her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. She is survived by one son, Johnnie and wife Joyce of Holts Summit; four daughters, Orvene Sloan and husband Larry of Crocker, Nancy Sinden of Dixon, Judy Dake and husband Jackie of Iberia, and Jeanna Ash and husband Dan of Iberia; 12 grandchildren, Michael, Douglas, Lori, Robby, Colleena, Artie, Ginger, Anna, Brandon, Eric, Tristan, and Lakota; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Adam McKee and Dallas McKee; and three grandchildren, John Orville, Edward Roy, and August.
