Fred A. Neuner, age 86, of Linn, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. Fred was born July 31, 1925, in Rich Fountain, a son to the late Fred H. and Betty Ann (Bexten) Neuner. Fred attended Mt. Ariel and Sacred Heart Catholic School. On December 28, 1946, Fred was united in marriage to Betty McDaniel. He later married Dorothy Stieferman Hall on July 14, 1990. She survives and is a resident of Autumn Meadows in Linn. Fred was a World War II Army veteran serving in both Germany and Japan. He worked as a lineman for Three Rivers Electric retiring after 40 years of service. Fred was a member of St. George Catholic Church, Catholic Knights, VFW Post #4756, American Legion Post #5, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693. Fred enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, and gardening. He also raised beautiful flowers in his yard. After retiring from Three Rivers Electric, Fred delivered "Meals on Wheels" for the Nutrition Center in Linn. In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by: three sons, Terry and his wife Mary Neuner of Westphalia, Steven and his wife Tatyana Neuner of Richardson, Texas, and Richard and his wife Shawna Neuner of Columbia; one brother, Elston Neuner of Taos; one sister, Louise Felker of St. Louis; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by: twin infant daughters; two brothers, Paul and Ben Neuner; and four sisters, Helen Neuner, Gustine Hartnett, Collette Meyer, and Florence Wingwrath. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. I.C. Medina as the Celebrant. Interment will follow with full Military Honors in the St. George Parish Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. George Church.
