Mrs. Elaine Frances Dominique, age 85 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at her home after battling A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Elaine was born June 8, 1926, at Denver, Colo., the daughter of Raymond and Leona Maher Courtney. She was married on September 1, 1947, at Denver, Colo., to P. Pierre Dominique. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Denver. She attended St. Joseph's College in Cincinnati, Ohio, and then the Vance Kirkland School of Art at the University of Denver. Elaine was the First Lady of the Missouri Bar in 1979-1980; President of the Charles E. Still Hospital Guild and founder of the Blue Boutique Gift Shoppe. She was a member of St. Peter Church and the Daughters of Isabella. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout and Brownie Leader. She played bridge for a number of years, and was a member of the Mid-Missouri Duplicate Bridge Club and the American Contract Bridge League. She has over one thousand bridge master points. Survivors include: her husband of 64 years, P. Pierre Dominique; five children, John Courtney Dominique of Columbia, Mo., Joseph Pierre Dominique of Corpus Christi, Texas, James Paul Dominique of Overland Park, Kan., Andrea Suzanne Grogan of Dallas, Texas, and Robert Daniel Dominique of Jefferson City, Mo.; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 9, 2012, with a prayer service to be conducted at 3:30 p.m. in the Freeman Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at St. Peter Church with the Reverend Francis Doyle officiating. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
