James Lloyd Harrison, 71, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at his home. He was born August 25, 1940, in Shelbina, the son of William L. and Ida B. (Brehringer) Harrison. James was a 1958 graduate of Shelbina High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1963 to 1965 and was stationed in Germany. On May 2, 1969, James was united in marriage to Jessie Ann (Smith) Erwin, who survives at their home. James worked for the City of Shelbina from 1974 to 1977. In 1977, he became the Chief Operator at the Moberly Water Plant, where he worked until his retirement in 2002. He was a member of the American Legion, Fraternal Order of Eagles and was a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Moberly. In addition to his wife Jessie, he is survived by four children: David F. Erwin (Julie) of Jefferson City, Bruce H. Erwin (Maria) of Jefferson City, Scott Harrison (Marsha) of Columbia, Paula Harrison of Jefferson City; and four grandchildren: Angela Hawkins and husband Kevin and their children Celina, Ebonee and Devin of Jefferson City, James Erwin of Jefferson City, Michael Erwin and his son Chase of Jefferson City, Brandon Erwin of Jefferson City. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Graveside service and interment with full military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 6, 2012, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Mo.
