Maxine Z. Bueker, 88, of California, Mo., passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2012, at her residence. She was born on December 4, 1923, in Aurora, Mo., the daughter of Frank and Frances (Enbody) Ratcliff. She was married at the California United Church of Christ on December 16, 1945, to Walter E. Bueker, who preceded her in death on January 30, 2009. Mrs. Bueker graduated from Clarksburg High School. She had worked at California Manufacturing and then for Burgers Smokehouse as a scale operator. She was a member of the California United Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting at home and at church, crocheting (especially baby booties), crossword puzzles, and spending time with her kids and grandkids. She is survived by one son, Wayne Bueker and wife Mary of California; one daughter, Diana Watson and husband Paul, Jamestown; one sister-in-law, Marie Ratcliff, Halfway; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the California United Church of Christ. Burial will be in California Evangelical Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Brian Bish. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., in the sanctuary of the California United Church of Christ.
