Doris J. McCray, 70, of Mokane, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011, at Callaway Community Hospital in Fulton. She was born on February 7, 1941 in Norborne, the daughter of Harold Leach and Ethel (Bradley) Leach. On February 19, 1966, she was united in marriage to Gary R. McCray, who survives her passing. Mrs. McCray was retired from Capital Region Medical Center as a Healthplex Coordinator. She was a member of the Church of God Holiness and was involved in numerous church activities. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and she enjoyed cooking. She was also an auxiliary member of Gideons International. In addition to her husband, Doris will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one daughter, Loretta Taylor and husband Dwight, of Mexico; two sons, Gerald McCray and wife Dottie, of Agoura Hills, California and Chuck McCray and wife Carrie, of Fulton; four brothers, John Leach of Sedalia, Timmy Leach of Russellville, Herbert Leach of Aurora, and Richard Leach of Carrollton; six sisters, June Smith, Rosie Huffmann, and Cindy Harman of Carrollton, Teresa Larkins of Bosworth, Sherry Meier of Monett, and Paulette Williamson of Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Sharon McCray Norris of Edinburgh, Indiana; and seven grandchildren, Audreonna Taylor, Darrin Taylor, Rylee McCray, Ellie McCray, Alaina McCray, Cody McCray, and Ty McCray. Mrs. McCray was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Leach and Glenn Leach; and three infant sisters, Margaret Kathleen Leach, Emily Sue Leach, and Barbara Kay Leach. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at Church of God Holiness in Fulton with Reverend Travis Sayler and Reverend John Poff officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2011, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. Interment will be at Steedman Cemetery.
