Betty B. Lepper, 65, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, September 5, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center. She was born July 24, 1946, in Jefferson City, a daughter of the late Thomas Harold and Nadine (Boles) Hoskins. She was a 1964 graduate of Jefferson City High School, where she received the business education award. On May 22, 1972, she was united in marriage to Adolph "Lep" Lepper, who survives at their home. Betty was an Administrative Assistant for the Missouri Senate - District 10 until her retirement in 2008. While with the Missouri Senate, she worked under Senators Harry Wiggins, Charles Wheeler and Jolie Justus. Betty was previously employed at Carson & Coil, Casualty Indemnity Exchange, and the United States Department of Agriculture. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she was also a member of the church choir. Betty was also a member of the Jefferson City Cantorium. She was an avid reader, and loved to sing. She was also a great cook and loved to go shopping. Along with her husband "Lep", she is also survived by a step-son: Randy Lepper (wife Candy) of Joplin; two grandchildren: Austin and Ashley Lepper of Joplin; and three sisters: Linda Burnett (special friend Mike Chick) of Holts Summit, Sherry Hoskins of Jefferson City, and Beth Johnson (husband Don) of Panama City Beach, Florida. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 9, 2011, at Faith Lutheran Church, with Rev. Tony Alter officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
