Margaret Mae Eubank, 81, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Golden Living Center. She was born February 27, 1930, in Jefferson County, a daughter of Duke Ewing and Marie Louise (Sander) Abernathy, both deceased. She was a graduate of Perryville High School and earned her nursing degree from the DePaul Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis. On April 2, 1952, Margaret was united in marriage in Fayette, to Lowry Dwayne Eubank, who preceded her in death on July 22, 1997. Margaret was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, working at Samaritan Hospital in Macon for 10 years and St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City for three years before joining Memorial Community Hospital, where she worked until her retirement in 1992 as a House Supervisor. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting and doing jigsaw puzzles. Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia A. Eubank of Jefferson City; one son, Alan W. Eubank of Jefferson City; two sisters, Norma Sadler of Columbia and Frances Cromer of Higginsville; one brother, William Abernathy of Sarasota, Florida; one sister-in-law, Virginia Harris of Columbia; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
