Mrs. Elenore M. Helmig, age 77 years, of Centertown, Mo., died Saturday, October 15, 2011, at the Landmark Hospital, Columbia, Mo. Elenore was born October 30, 1933, in Linn, Mo., the daughter of Adolph Hicks Sr. and Edna Carwile Hicks Jenkins. She was married on December 3, 1949, in Linn, Mo., to Henry Helmig. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, she attended Potts School in Linn, Mo. She babysat for many years, worked in the cafeteria at Montgomery Wards, and was employed with Chesebrough Ponds for several years. She was employed in Food Service with Charles E. Still Hospital for 20 years until her retirement in 1998. Elenore loved her family, family gatherings, fishing, crocheting, yard sales, and her pets. Survivors include: her husband of 61 years, Henry Helmig; two daughters, Patricia Bloomer and her husband Raymond of Holts Summit, Mo. and Karen Winemiller and her husband Joe of Russellville, Mo.; one son, Ronald Helmig of Jefferson City, Mo.; three sisters, Ann Jones and her husband Perry of Tuscumbia, Mo., Mary Dothage of Lake Ozark, Mo., and Carol Kulberg of Stover, Mo.; five brothers, Frankie Holliday of Lake Ozark, Mo., Jewel Hicks and his wife Rita of Lake Ozark, Mo., George Hicks and his wife Theresa of Camdenton, Mo., John Hicks and his wife Sandy of Henley, Mo., and Paul Hicks of Lake Ozark, Mo.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dennis Helmig; her step- father, John "Pete" Jenkins; and two brothers, Adolph Hicks Jr. and Lawrence Hicks. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Stained Glass Theatre in Jefferson City, Mo. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary. www.freemanmortuary.com
