Rashonda Elizabeth Stanley, 22, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011. She was born January 2, 1989, in Jefferson City Missouri, the daughter of Billy J. and Sharon (Thornton) Stanley. She was a 2007 graduate of Jefferson City High School where she excelled in sports and academics. She attended Webster University on a Soccer/Academic Scholarship. She later transferred to the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she played softball for UMKC ROOS. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in May 2011, with a B.S. degree in Biology. She was currently a graduate student at the University of Missouri-Columbia pursuing a Masters degree in Physical Therapy. In her spare time, Rashonda enjoyed playing soccer, watching sports, movies, going shopping, listening to music, and hanging out with her friends and family. In addition to her parents, Rashonda is survived by one sister: Keesha Stanley of Columbia; one brother: William Stanley of Columbia; one nephew: William Stanley Jr.; and one niece: Cydnee Stanley, both of Columbia. She also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wealth of friends. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2011, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Marion Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
