Gail F. Wittenberger, 82, Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at his home. He was born in Moniteau County on March 6, 1929, the son of Lawrence and Selma Roedel Wittenberger, who preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Prairie Home High School. He was married on August 28, 1949, in California, to Eileen Winkler, who survives of the home. He served in the U.S. Army. Gail was a member of the Moniteau Evangelical Advent Church where he served on the church and cemetery board and sang in the choir. He was a board member of the Prairie Home CO-OP, Prairie Home MFA board and the Prairie Home School Board. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and visiting with his neighbors. Survivors include: one son, David Wittenberger and wife Linda of California. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Wittenberger and Eugene Wittenberger. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Moniteau Evangelical Advent Church. Officiating will be Rev. Brian Bish. Burial will be in the Moniteau Evangelical Advent Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2011, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California. Memorials are suggested to the Moniteau Evangelical Advent Cemetery Fund, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak St. California, MO 65018. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
