Kathleen D. Miller, 76, of Tipton, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle due to the ill effects of cancer treatments. She was born July 1, 1935 in Tipton, to Norman Hainen and Elizabeth Faherty. She married Robert Miller on August 27, 1955 in Tipton, who survives of the home. She worked at a Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City. Later she worked at Stride Rite Shoe Factory in Tipton. She worked for Crews and Gaw as a legal secretary for over 30 years. The last five years she worked at the Tipton Correction Center. She was a member of the St. Andrew's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She loved reading, working puzzles, cooking and going out with her friends. Survivors include her husband, Bobby Jack of the home; two sons, Grant (Ramona) Miller of Warrensburg and Ted Miller of Tipton; five grandchildren, Andrew, Seth, Luke, Heath, and Carinne Miller; three brothers, Al Hainen of Blue Springs, Phil Hainen of Charleston, W. Va., and Tim Hainen of Jefferson City; one sister, Rose Marie Campbell of Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ed, Theodore, and Paul; one sister, Norma McBeath; and one son, Russell Miller. Funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 28, 2011, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, November 27, at the Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Price James Library or St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
