Gerald Theodore Hasenbeck, 74, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at the Missouri Veteran's Home in Mexico, Mo. He was born on December 6, 1936, in Freeburg, Mo., the son of the late Linus James and Ermalinda Ann Neuner Hasenbeck. He was united in marriage on April 30, 1960, in Jefferson City, to Judith Ann Hamacher, who preceded him in death on April 14, 2009. Gerald was a United States Army veteran serving with the 62nd Combat Engineers in Italy 1960-1962. Gerald worked for the Missouri Electric Coop - Black River Electric Coop in Fredericktown, Mo., as an electric data processing manager retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph and the American Legion. Gerald and his wife, Judy, enjoyed traveling and dealing in antiques, especially Civil War and World War II items. Gerald enjoyed working and hunting on his farm near Chamois and having friends visit to talk about their life growing up in Freeburg. Survivors include: two sons, Michael Hasenbeck, Chamois and David (Cibele) Hasenbeck, Piedmont, Mo.; one granddaughter; and six siblings, Larry (Ruth) Hasenbeck, Jefferson City, Elaine Healey, Jefferson City, Jeannie Hasenbeck, Jefferson City, Paul Hasenbeck, "MIA", Southeast Asia, Ted (Shirley) Hasenbeck, Rich Fountain, and Robert (Carol) Hasenbeck, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Schulte; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Hasenbeck. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2011, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 8:30-9:30 a.m., Saturday, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
