Shirley June Allen Greil, 74, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011, at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics. She was born April 15, 1937, in Bollinger County, Missouri, the daughter of the late Paul Allen and Beatrice Slinkard Henry. On January 19, 1961, she was united in marriage to Joseph Frank Greil, who preceded her in death November 3, 1976. Shirley was a graduate of Soldan Blewette High School in St. Louis. A homemaker for most of her life, she was a volunteer at the Salvation Army, Capital Region Medical Center, and St. Mary's Health Center. She was a member of YMCA. Shirley was a loyal friend, great mother, loving grandmother, and touched many lives. She was also a fan and supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals and her granddaughter's fast pitch softball team. She is survived by one son: Stanley Joseph Greil, wife Kim of Oklahoma; three daughters: Gwenda Kay Hancock of Mississippi, Pamela Sue Hardy, husband James of Florida and Debra Jo Buschman, husband Chris of Lohman; three siblings: Juline Trokey of Hazelwood, Virginia Horton of St. Louis, Jerry Allen of St. Louis, nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two siblings: Barbara Buck and Paul Allen, and one grandchild Jeanna Greil. Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at the Houser Millard Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 5:30 p.m. with Rev. Murl Nash officiating. Interment will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at 1:15 p.m. in Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis, Missouri. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
