Ramon Rudolph Talken, age 73, of Festus, Mo., passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Mo. He was born July 7, 1938, in Chamois, Mo., the son of the late Mary Ethel (nee Wuelling) and Peter F. Talken. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a retired Head Operator from Dow Chemical Company, a member of Church of Our Lady in Festus, Knights of Columbus Council #1230 and the Festus/Crystal City Conservation Club. He is survived by his wife, Agnes (nee Schumer) Talken; daughters, Kim Evans and husband Richard of Beaumont, Texas, Linda Shufelberger and husband Steve of Columbia, Mo.; sons, Gary Talken and wife Julie of St. Charles, Mo., Chris Talken and wife Beth of Columbia, Mo., Michael Talken and wife Heather of St. Peters, Mo.; a brother, Ralph Talken and wife Francis of Troy, Mo., sisters, Helen Hasty of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., Marianna Rogers and husband Jim of Rockford, Ill., Loretta Huber and husband Richard of Quincy, Ill., Alice Kempker and husband Cletus of Holts Summit, Mo., Denise Kliethermes and husband Leon of Taos, Mo. and Lee Ann Schaben and husband Michael of Westphalia, Mo., a sister-in-law, Arlene Talken; and 15 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Glennon Talken and Leo Joseph Talken. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2011, at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus, with Funeral Mass on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Church of Our Lady, officiated by Fr. John Kerber, Pastor. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Crystal City, Mo. Memorials preferred to Masses or St. Vincent de Paul Society of Church of Our Lady.
