James (Jamer) Edward Smith, age 46, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born January 29, 1965, at the University of Columbia. James was employed as a tree trimmer for Tree Works. He enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music, fishing, camping, barbecuing, and being with his daughter and family. Survivors include: one daughter, Jamie Lea Wheat of Jefferson City; a son, Ronald Williams of St. Louis; two sisters, Debbie Tuttle and her husband David of Clarksburg, and Carla Sullivan of Florida; three brothers, Jess Smith of Mokane, Jerry Smith of Holts Summit, and Jeffery "Zip" Smith of Fulton; 20 nieces and nephews and 27 great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 19 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2346 Zion Rd., Jefferson City, MO 65109. A carry-in dinner will be held after the service for family and friends. Memorials are suggested to Debbie Tuttle, 17456 Hood Bridge, Clarksburg, MO 65025, to help with final expenses and trust for his daughter, Jamie.
