Robert Isidore Veit, 71, of Osage Bend, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born November 19, 1939, in Osage Bend, a son of the late Joseph F. and Veronica A. (Lueckenotte) Veit. He attended school in Osage Bend. On October 2, 1969, he was married in Mary's Home, Missouri, to Linda Tellman, who survives at their home. Robert was a longtime farmer and worked for Stockman Feed & Fertilizer for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Osage Bend. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his eight grandkids. Along with his wife Linda, Robert is also survived by four children: Paul Veit of Osage Bend; Brenda Adair (husband Will Sr.) of Osage Bend; Glenda Blankenship of Wardsville; Darla Gilpin (husband Mike) of Osage Bend; four sisters: Lorraine Yanskey (husband J.R.) of St. Martins; Delores Schenewerk; Virginia Bolten and Teresa Schubert (husband Terry), all of Jefferson City; one brother: John Veit (wife Mary Jane) of Wardsville; eight grandchildren: Will Adair Jr., Justan Adair, B.J. Hoffman, Dewight Hoffman, Shane Blankenship, Dakota Gilpin, Joseph Gilpin and Madyson Gilpin. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law: Lucas Blankenship; and an infant grandson. Friends will be received from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2011, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Osage Bend. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Margaret Catholic Church, with Fr. Greg Meystrik officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Margaret's Cemetery.
