Esther Mae "Mae" Asbury

Esther Mae "Mae" Asbury, 82, of Moberly, died Thursday, November 3, 2011, in an area nursing home. Mae was born August 10, 1929, to John Charles and Esther Louise (Motschenbach) Hesemann near Rosebud, Gasconade County, Mo. She lived in Moberly many years where she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church before moving to Jefferson in 1978, where she moved her membership to Faith Lutheran. She moved back to Moberly last year as her health was deteriorating. During her life, she was a wife, a mom, a nurse, and owner/operator of Danse Wear 'N More in Jefferson City. She is survived by sons, Ross (Nancy) of Moberly, Craig of Paris, and Sean of Jefferson City; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Delmar Hesemann of Jefferson City; one brother-in-law, Sammie "Pete" Asbury of Clark; and sisters-in-law, Clayton Browning of Moberly, and Ercel Lou Million of Rising Sun, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Russell "Bud" Asbury; one son, Keith Asbury; her parents; and a brother, Wesley Hesemann. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in memory of Mae be sent to the Community Kitchen Building Fund, P.O. Box 1010, Moberly, MO 65270. Private family services were held Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of CATER Funeral Home. (660-263-3360)
