Ronald L. Jungmeyer, age 64, of Russellville, died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at University Hospital in Columbia. He was born March 4, 1947, in Russellville, a son of Victor W. "Doc" and Martha Linhardt Jungmeyer. Ron was baptized April 4, 1947, and confirmed May 27, 1962, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Russellville. The confirmation verse chosen was Matthew 7:21, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." On June 1, 1991, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Ron was united in marriage to Shirley Kindle Cable and she survives at their home. He was a graduate of Russellville High School and Linn Technical School in Linn. Ron was an Air Force veteran, serving his country in the Vietnam War. He and Richard Heidbreder partnered in the concrete foundation business for several years. After selling his interest in the foundation business, Ron became a contractor for the U.S. Postal service, running the Columbia/St. Louis routes, along with some smaller local mail routes for many years. Ron was best known for his love of John Deere tractors. He took his love of tractors and his attention to detail and created a business where he restored antique tractors. In a very short time he became renowned for his craftsmanship and soon he was restoring tractors from all over the world. He was a lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Russellville. When Ron's health began to fail, he enjoyed spending time on his golf cart with his little dog, Amber. They could be found driving around the home-place, "rabbit hunting" on the cart. In addition to his wife Shirley, he is survived by his mother, Martha Jungmeyer of Russellville; one daughter, Darla Jungmeyer and partner, Chris Primus of San Juan Island, Washington; two sons, Tony Cable and wife Nancy and Troy Cable and wife Monica, all of Versailles; one brother, Duaine Jungmeyer and wife Marti of Russellville; one sister, Elaine Richards and husband Butch of Tebbetts; three grandchildren, Peyton Cable and Thomas and Torrie Cable; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
