Pauletta S. High, 62, of Centertown, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011, at home, after a brave fight with cancer. She was born September 21, 1948, in Wamego, Kansas. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all. She enjoyed doing embroidery, sewing, baking and making people laugh. Mom was very avid about obtaining donations and participating in Relay for Life each year. Our family encourages you to donate to the American Cancer Society and the Relay for Life. Pauletta is survived by her husband of 44 years, Herbert L. High of Centertown; one son, Paul High (Lori); one daughter, Amy High (Michael Renner); three grandchildren, Quentin, Tristan and Natali High; four brothers, Gary Ward (Joyce), Gearold Ward (Sharon), Darrell Eastman (Val), Robert P. Ward; five sisters, Connie Eastman, Vicki Rezac (David), Mary Morelan, Sandy Rogers (Darvin), Debra Ward; in-laws, Lorraine Farrar, Pansy York, Elta Bishop, Henry High; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her father and step-mother, Paul E. and Delorese Ward of Delia, Kansas, and her mother, Marjorie Medlin of Fairdealing. Friends will be received from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where services will follow at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Bruce Gardner officiating. Private family interment will be held. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
