Daniel David "Danny" Morris, age 71, of Eugene, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at his home. He was born March 20, 1940, in Cole County, a son of William Ottis and Dorthy Dean Hader Morris. On July 30, 1960, at the Olean Christian Church, Danny was united in marriage to Elaine Renken, who survives at their home. Danny was a 1958 graduate of Eugene High School. For many years he was salesman for Sears. In 2002, Danny retired from the Office Administration after 23 years of employment. He was a former member of the Eugene Christian Church. For the past 50 years he was an active and faithful member of the Capital City Christian Church in Jefferson City. He served as President of the Spring Garden Cemetery Board until his health began to fail him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David (Theresa) Morris of Henley and Randall Morris of Columbia; one daughter, Marisa (John) Wagner of Versailles; two brothers, Audley (Polly) Morris of Eldon and James Morris of Jefferson City; one sister, Rose Marie Morris Schilpp of Independence; four grandchildren, Bryan Morris, Jerod (Sammi Jo) Morris, David Wagner and Callie Wagner, one great- granddaughter, Chelsea Morris; two sisters-in-law, Irene Morris and Bernice Morris; his wife's family, Frances Engelbrecht, Deloyce Barry, Gayle (Janet) Renken, Janice (Clyde) Theroff, Keith (Jill) Renken and Lila Renken; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Danny was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Gail, Marvin, George and John Morris; one sister, Dorothy Smith; his father and mother-in-law, Edmond and Celeste Renken; and three brothers-in-law, Don Renken, Curt Engelbrecht and Harold Barry. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 23, at the Capital City Christian Church in Jefferson City with Rev. John Wagner and Rev. Don Fankhauser officiating. Interment will be in the Spring Garden Cemetery on Route AA north of Eugene. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, May 22, at the Capital City Christian Church in Jefferson City.
