Melvin Watring

Melvin Leo Watring, 77, of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at his home. He was born Sept. 22, 1933, in Syracuse, Mo., to Jack and Margaret Watring. Melvin worked in the hayfields, then he started working in a factory. He worked at Fischers Pool Tables in Tipton Mo. for 22 years. Then he worked for Fuqua Homes in Boonville for over 20 years as a plumber. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Donna Watring of Eureka Springs Ark.; two daughters and their spouses, Brenda and David Rugen of California Mo. and Bonnie and Rick Smith of Eureka Springs Ark.; two brothers, his twin, Marvin Cleo Watring of Tipton Mo. and Paul Robert Watring of Syracuse Mo.; five grandchildren, Chris Rugen, Kevin Rugen, Jessica Johnson, Justin Smith, Heather Smith and seven great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Clyde Watring, Claude Watring, Lester David Watring, and Lloyd Lee Watring. Visitation will be Sunday May 22, at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton Mo., from 1-3 p.m., with service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
