Vernon Robertson (Veteran)

Vernon Dale Robertson, 85, of Fulton, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Fulton Nursing and Rehab. He was born July 11, 1925, in Audrain County, the son of the late Ralph Cross Robertson and Martha Jane (Moore) Robertson. On April 21, 1968, he was united in marriage to Ruby Josephine (Lehman) Robertson, who survives at their home. Vernon served our country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was owner and operator of Vernís Upholstery. He was a member of the Heartland Church of the Nazarene, Fulton VFW Post 2657 and Fraternal Order of Eagles #2693 of Jefferson City. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and kidding around at the coffee shop. In addition to his wife of 43 years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three daughters, Carolyn (Jack) McMillen of Colorado Springs, Colo., Beverly Barron of Jefferson City and Dale Crawford (Randy) of Holts Summit; one brother, Ralph Robertson Jr. of Bowling Green; five grandchildren, Denise (Brett) Bjornsrud, Angee (Glen) Rose, Patrick Crawford, Whitney (Carl) Johnson and Leslie Crawford; three great-grandchildren, Emma Bjornsrud, Leah Bjornsrud and Landry Rose; one step-daughter, Bette Rovik; two step-grandchildren, Stephen Rovik and Stephanie (David) Behan; and five step-great-grandchildren. His parents; one brother, Francis Eugene Robertson; and one sister, Nell Berdine Curry; preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, with Reverend Gary Garrett officiating. Interment will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton.
