Henry Benjamin William Woehrmann Jr., 92, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 28, 1919, in St. Charles, the son of the late Henry and Louisa Dahlhoff Woehrmann. He was married on June 21, 1947, in St. Charles, to Maxine Bernice Sapp, who preceded him on July 14, 2007. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater, where he was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. Mr. Woehrmann was a sales representative for Vess Bottling Co., St. Louis, for many years. During retirement he held several part-time employments. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Past Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3944 in St. Louis, and a former PTL President of Hope Lutheran School in St. Ann. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Survivors include one daughter, Marsha (Wess) Henderson, Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Shellie (Neil) Goodin, Craig Henderson and Jennifer Henderson, all of Jefferson City, and Ashley (Bret) Mangrich, Eureka; seven great-grandchildren, Johannah, McKensi, Channing, and Chloee Henderson, Drew and Katie Goodin and Lucy Mangrich; and one cousin, Lawrence (Eloise) Brockmann, St. Ann. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Samuel Powell, Associate Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church, and Pastor James Mueller, Chaplain at Lutheran Senior Services, officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Calvary Lutheran High School, 2525 Route B, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
