Kirk Bohling

Kirk Neal Bohling, 48, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at his home in Sedalia. He was born on January 17, 1963, at Jefferson City, a son of Vern Dean H. and Wanda Elaine (Brockman) Bohling. Kirk was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church and graduated eighth grade from Trinity Lutheran School, both in Jefferson City. He had worked for Sterling Excavation in Jefferson City and as a truck driver for Heath's Hauling and Frank Root, both of Cole Camp. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, spending time at the Brockman skating rink near Cole Camp and racing cars at Holts Summit. He enjoyed having bar-b-ques, hanging out with his friends, and watching NASCAR. He is survived by: his father and step-mother, Vern Dean and Bonnie Bohling of Mora; his mother, Elaine Patterson of Jefferson City; three brothers, Kim D. Bohling of Mora, Kerry L. Bohling of Warsaw, and Klark S. Bohling of Cole Camp; three step-brothers, Dwight Jones and Jeffrey Jones, both of Jeffeson City and Dennis Jones of Sedalia; his friend and fiancÈ, Carla Sears of Sedalia and her three children, Nicole Sears, Andrew Sears, and Jimmy Sears and seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Noreen Brockman and Henry and Lilly Bohling. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2011, at Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp, with Pastor Jody Rice officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, rural Cole Camp. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at the funeral home with visitation to follow. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Memorial Cemetery or the donor's choice of charity in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp. Pallbearers will be Kim Bohling, Kerry Bohling, Klark Bohling, Dwight Jones, Jeffrey Jones, Dennis Jones, Andrew Sears, Zach Teiberis, and Jimmy Sears.
