Arline Brondel

Arline Brondel, 95, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Adams Street Place. She was born September 27, 1915, in Henley, a daughter of Emanuel and Grace O. (Amos) Engelbrecht. She was a 1933 graduate of Jefferson City High School. On June 4, 1938, Arline was united in marriage at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City to Edward Amos Brondel, who preceded her in death on May 19, 1991. Arline was a homemaker, and had worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue until her retirement. She was a member of the St. Martin Catholic Church and enjoyed reading, painting and spending time with her family. She is survived by two children: David E. Brondel of Jefferson City and Marilyn Schulte and husband Louis of Jefferson City; two grandchildren: Laura Haslag of Jefferson City and Alan Schulte of St. Charles; and two great- grandchildren: Eric Haslag and Ryan Haslag. Arline was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Patricia Sue Brondel; and one sister, Carmen Russell. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at the St. Martin Catholic Church with Fr. Edwin Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Martin Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Martin Catholic Church or Masses.
