Doris Sheley

Doris A. Sheley, age 79, of Holts Summit, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was born February 27, 1932, in Fulton, Missouri, a daughter of the late Harry Elmer "Toad" Morts and Opal Marie (McCleery) Morts. On January 6, 1957, she was united in marriage to Howard M. Sheley, he preceded her in death on November 20, 1996. Doris graduated from Fulton High School in 1950. She worked in St. Louis for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She retired after 35 years from Farm Bureau in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was an avid reader, she enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son, Jon Sheley of Holts Summit, Missouri; one daughter, Jan Sheley-Kump of New Bloomfield, Missouri; her step-mother, Ruby Robertson and her husband, Vern of Fulton, Missouri; five granddaughters, Chelsey, Lyndsey, Meghan, Ayrika, and Madison; two brothers, Kenneth (Charlotte) Morts of St. Charles, Missouri and Keith Morts of Tampa, Florida; one sister, Bette Jean Rovik of Jefferson City, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Robert Morts and one sister, Marion Morts Whitcomb. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fulton, Missouri, with Reverend Stewart Curtright officiating.
