Patsy Carlene McCray

Patsy Carlene Templeton McCray, age 76, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at her home in Hyder Apartments in Jefferson City. She was born April 30, 1934, in Russellville, a daughter of Allen Virgle and Mary Gertrude Payne Templeton, both deceased. On May 15, 1954, in Kansas City she married Warren Lee McCray and he survives. She was a 1951 graduate of East High School in Kansas City. Carlene was employed in the clerical department of Orion Studios in Kansas City. She was a member of Fairgrounds Road Church of Christ in Jefferson City. In her spare time Carlene enjoyed traveling. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by two children, Cheryl Lynn (McCray) Coots of Jefferson City and Monte McCray of Kansas City; two brothers, Dorsey Templeton and his wife Joann of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Allen Dale Templeton of Jefferson City; one sister-in-law, Sandy Templeton of Independence; five grandchildren, Nichole, Christina, April, Jacob and Bailey; eight great-grandchildren, Alisha, Storme, Zain, Kohl, Mikel, Cheyenne, Kaleb and Bradley; 15 nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Patsy was also preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Templeton. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 28, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Interment will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Russellville. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home on Monday.
